Abstract
The purpose of this study is to investigate the factors affecting duplicate visits between medical and oriental medical institutions in relation to five musculoskeletal diseases. Using the Korea Medical Panel Annual Data (Version 1.3), Among the 13,704 persons who visited medical or oriental medical institutions in 2013-2014, 4,052 persons with the diagnosis code of 5 musculoskeletal diseases were selected as the final analysis. Pearson¡¯s chi-square test and Fisher¡¯s exact test were performed. The results of the analysis showed that the duplication visit rate was different according to the disease and characteristics of visitors. To identify factors affecting duplication visti rate, logistic regression analysis was performed. As a result, factors affecting the duplication visit rate were gender, age, area, and subjective health status. Systematic collaboration between medical and oriental medicine not only reduces cost but also reduces the risk of duplication. It will be able to provide better care to the patient.
